A herd of weed-eating cashmere goats were due back at Bear Creek Regional Park on Oct. 16 or 17 for a 10-day mission. Up to 500 goats will snack on brush and weeds to perform organic weed control in 20 acres of the park surrounding the Charmaine Nymann Community Garden, El Paso County said in a news release. The gardeners have raised funds for grazing each year for the past 18 years to avoid using chemicals to kill weeds. Dog owners are cautioned to remember to leash their pets so they don’t molest the goats, the release said.
The Indy joined Lani Malmberg and her herd in the Cedar Heights neighborhood in Colorado Springs in 2014.
